How It Works

Flurbiprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking the action of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, which are involved in the production of prostaglandins — substances that cause inflammation, pain, and fever. By inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, Flurbiprofen reduces pain, swelling, and fever.

Warnings

Warning 1:
Flurbiprofen may inhibit platelet aggregation and prolong bleeding time. Caution in patients with bleeding disorders.

Warning 2:
Risk of renal impairment increases in patients with pre-existing renal, cardiac, or hepatic dysfunction. NSAIDs may worsen renal function.

Warning 3:
Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible duration. Monitor renal function during prolonged use.
