How it Works:
Brufen DS contains ibuprofen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by
inhibiting the production of prostaglandins—chemicals in the body responsible for pain, fever,
and inflammation.
Brufen DS Usage and Safety
Dosage:
Ibuprofen (as directed by a physician; dosage depends on age, weight, and condition)
Side Effects:
 Nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite
 Stomach discomfort, cramps, heartburn, constipation, or diarrhoea
 Headache, drowsiness, dizziness
 Ringing in the ears, hearing issues
 Runny or blocked nose, insomnia, fatigue
 Mood changes (depression, confusion, nervousness)
 Visual disturbances (blurred vision, eye redness or itching)
 Unusual bleeding or bruising
 Signs of infection (fever, chills, sore throat, mouth ulcers)

Drug Interactions:
Brufen DS may interact with:
 Aspirin, salicylates, or other NSAIDs

 Digoxin, ciclosporin, tacrolimus

Indications:
Brufen DS is indicated for the relief and management of:
 Juvenile and adult rheumatoid arthritis
 Osteoarthritis and ankylosing spondylitis
 Acute gout and other inflammatory joint conditions
 Periarticular disorders (e.g. bursitis, tendonitis)
 Soft tissue injuries and low back pain
 Dysmenorrhoea (menstrual pain), dental pain, and postoperative pain
 Migraine and general headache relief
 Fever and inflammatory symptoms
When Not to Use:
Avoid Brufen DS if you:
 Are allergic to ibuprofen or other NSAIDs
 Have a history of stomach ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding
 Suffer from severe liver, kidney, or heart disease
 Have a bleeding disorder or increased bleeding tendency
Precautions:
Ibuprofen may mask symptoms of infection such as fever or swelling. Inform your doctor if you
notice any unusual signs while on treatment. Caution is advised in children, the elderly, and
individuals with pre-existing health conditions.
Warnings:
 Inform your doctor of all medicines you’re taking before starting Brufen DS.
 Do not take if you have a bleeding condition or severe gastrointestinal issues.
 If a dose is missed, do not double up—take the next dose as scheduled.
