How It Works
Cefixime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It binds to penicillin-binding
proteins (PBPs) inside the bacterial cell wall, inhibiting the final step of cell wall synthesis,
which leads to bacterial death (bactericidal effect).
Usage and Safety
Dosage:
As directed by a physician. Contains Cefixime Trihydrate — the dosage is typically adjusted
based on age, weight, and severity of the infection.

 Nausea, vomiting
 Abdominal pain, dyspepsia

Indications:

When Not to Use:

Warnings:

overgrowth of Clostridium difficile.
3. GI Disease Caution: Patients with a history of colitis or other gastrointestinal disorders
