Used For:
 Relief of cough, fever, nasal congestion, and allergy-related symptoms.
How It Works:
 Dextromethorphan is an antitussive that suppresses cough by acting on the cough center
in the brain.
 Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine that blocks histamine to relieve allergy
symptoms.
 Ephedrine acts as a decongestant by narrowing the blood vessels in the nasal passages.
 Sodium Citrate works as a mucolytic and helps reduce irritation in the throat.
Usage and Safety
Dosage:
 Based on age and symptom severity, as prescribed by a physician.
Side Effects:
 Cardiovascular: Cardiac arrhythmias, hypotension
 Dermatologic: Allergic contact dermatitis
 Gastrointestinal: Anorexia, nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea or
constipation
Drug Interactions:
 Avoid using with MAO inhibitors, sodium oxybate, furazolidone, or other CNS
stimulants.
 Ask your physician or pharmacist before combining with other medications.
Indications:

o Watery eyes, sneezing
o Cough due to colds, flu, or allergies
When Not to Use:
 Known allergy to any of the ingredients
 Recent use (within 14 days) of MAO inhibitors, furazolidone, or sodium oxybate
Precautions:
 Use with caution in:
o Patients who are sedated, debilitated, or bedridden
o Children under 6 years old (not recommended under 4 years)
o Those with cardiac issues, hypertension, or psychiatric disorders
Warnings:
1. Not for prolonged use—do not exceed 7 consecutive days without medical advice.
2. May cause hallucinations, agitation, muscle twitching, or rapid heart rate.
3. Keep out of reach of children and avoid use in children under 4 years.
