How it Works
Pregabalin reduces neuronal calcium currents by binding to the alpha-2-delta subunit of

Neuropathic pain from diabetic peripheral neuropathy

When Not to Use
Known hypersensitivity to pregabalin or any ingredients
Patients with rare hereditary problems such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase
deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption
Precautions
Pregabalin should be withdrawn gradually over at least 1 week to minimize seizure risk in
patients with seizure disorders.
Warnings
1. Discontinue immediately if symptoms of angioedema (facial, perioral, or upper airway
swelling) occur.
2. Weight gain may occur, especially in diabetics who might need to adjust hypoglycemic
meds.
3. May cause dizziness and somnolence; caution advised when driving or operating
machinery, especially in elderly patients.
