Usage and Safety
Dosage: Cetirizine Dihydrochloride
Side Effects:
 Stop medicine and consult doctor if you experience:
o Confusion
o Hallucinations
o Abnormal liver function tests
o Rapid heartbeat
o Loss of consciousness
 Common (1 in 100 to 1 in 10):
o Headache, dizziness
o Drowsiness, tiredness
o Restlessness
o Dry mouth, sore throat
o Upset stomach, diarrhea, nausea
o Runny nose
 Uncommon (1 in 1000 to 1 in 100):
o Agitation
o Weakness, malaise
o Pins & needles
o Itching, rash

Used to relieve:
 Symptoms of hay fever and other allergies (sneezing, runny nose, itchy/burning eyes)
 Symptoms of skin allergies like rash, itching, or hives (urticaria)
When Not to Use
 If allergic to cetirizine or any other ingredients
 If you have serious kidney problems
Precautions
 If due for allergy testing, ask your doctor about stopping cetirizine a few days before, as
it may affect results.
Warnings
1. Inform your doctor if you have epilepsy or risk of seizures, or urinary problems (spinal
cord, prostate, bladder).
2. Generally, cetirizine does not cause drowsiness or affect driving, but if dizziness, nausea,
or drowsiness occur, avoid driving or operating machinery.
3. Contains lactose — consult your doctor if you have sugar intolerance.
